2016-creepy-cultures

Created with UV-BioTAG: S. Typhimurium on TSA with Sheep Blood Agar

Last year we asked you to send us your creepiest, crawliest Halloween themed agar art. We were so impressed by your micro-artistic skills that we’ve been counting down the days until our next #CreepyCultures contest. Ghosts, monsters, skulls, bats and witches – we can’t wait to see what you create!

How the contest works:

Create a Halloween themed plate using your favorite microorganisms and agar. Share an image of your plate with us by Monday, October 24, 2016 for a chance to win a Microbiologics swag bag including a stuffed Stanley Staphylococcus!

Scroll to the bottom of this post to see last year’s winners. For extra creepy cultures, use our UV-BioTAG™ strains (GFP tagged microorganisms) to make your design glow like the plate on the right, designed by our Technical Manager, Dr. Karla Fjeld.

Three ways to enter:

  1. Fill out the form below
  2. Send your image to marketing@microbiologics.com
  3. Share your image on Facebook or Twitter using #CreepyCultures

We will announce the winners on Thursday, October 27, 2016 on the Microbiologics Blog and social pages.

Good luck and happy plating!
